The miniseries follows the life of Tiberio Mitri, rises and falls in a postwar ragged where he became a symbol of redemption and at the same time character for gossip closely under the relentless siege. Blond, elegant, at 24 years old he has the world at his feet: born in ’26 in Trieste. In ’48 he won the Italian championship, a title that he confirms the year after. He was “European champion” until 1954, star of epic encounters that praised Italy’s name on the most prestigious ring  in Europe. In the ’50s he married his great love, Fulvia Franco, Miss Italy 1948, Friulian like him. She was very ambitious and she wants to live Hollywood. Meanwhile Jack La Motta, raging bull, stops Mitri’s run in New York in a fight for the world middleweight. It’s the beginning of the end. The champion of the past, now is a shadow of himself, overweight, addicted to smoking and alcohol (years later confessed that he had started in those days his cocaine addiction), reduced to make the dishwasher for living, is recognized by a historic coach, Luigi Proietti, in a bar in Via Merulana in Rome, near the old gym Indomita. He was only 30 years old. The coach vowed to bring it back into the ring, and winning. It was so at 36 he won the European title again May 2, 1954 in Rome by beating, by ko in the first round, the Englishman Randy Turpin.
