Belgium 1956: in one of the worst mining disasters of all time died 136 Italian immigrants. In this re-enactment of all phases of the tragedy the life of Antoninus is focused. A young man a bit ‘drifter who emigrated in Marcinelle to rebuild his life. The fate makes him a hero to the case: after having so often set back, the face of disaster is redeemed and runs to bring help. Beside him Santina, she emigrated to Belgium to join her husband, from whom, however, turns out to be betrayed.
