Marco, an ordinary man close to his forties, Zoe, a young bold 25-year-old girl, and Laura, an icy and elegant bourgeois woman, are trapped in a fragility and inner torment labyrinth. Each one of them, even though they arrived at their limit of their daily endurance, is desperately trying to hide their emotional disturbance by adopting toxic strategies and self-destructive behaviours to survive the world surrounding them. When they will finally face their inner demons, they won’t find a definitive solution to their pain. They unexpectedly find themselves sharing a moment with people who seem unrelated to their personal drama but who offer them the comfort they need.
“In the Box” is an exploration of the daily struggle of existence, through the universal themes of loss, emotional isolation and the constant search for apparent normality in life. Through the intertwined lives of Marco, Zoe and Laura, the story highlights the complexity of human relationships, vulnerability and the need for the comfort of listening and sharing.
