The film is dedicated to the extraordinary and little known history of the Republic of Carnia and Alto Friuli. In 1944, for a few months, forty municipalities Friuli and Veneto were liberated from the Nazi-Fascist. There was formed a Republic partisan comprising all democratic political forces, in which he experienced a great area of freedom and popular participation that anticipated some of the achievements of republican.
